Alright so he's not the best rapper alive. He repeats himself a lot. He sounds like he's talking to himself instead of rapping sometimes. He's killed more brain cells than Pacman Jones and Travis Henry combined. But somehow, Lil Wayne still came out with the best hip-hop album since Jay-Z's The Black Album. Weezy brings the same incredible metaphors that his mixtapes are chock full of: "I hate rats/ I clean them out like ajax/ got paper like a fax machine." While it might not validate Weezy's ego or the critical hype, for whatever reason I can't stop listening to Tha Carter III.

With Feed the Animals, Gregg Gillis establishes why he's the premier mash-up DJ working today. A quick look at the samples he uses include Lil Mama, Metallica, T.I. and Sinead O'Connor. Gillis' amazing ability to make unlikely pairs of songs work together make Feed the Animals the best club album to come out this summer.
